I'll dominate 'credible fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight-bout match which will be streamed live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the combatants met personally to build hype for next month's boxing match.
Former two-time unified title holder Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Boxer's Mentality
"I plan to break his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.
"I will really want to hurt him. That's my intention."
Respectful Exchange
Despite these statements, a composed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally famous for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul rather targeted former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after Ngannou rejected a bout proposal.
Targeting Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British rival Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer stated.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Fighter
In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.
Jake Paul's History
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.
He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.
Commercial Attraction
Still, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, regularly earning substantial paydays.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would prevent the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul said.
Size Disparity
As both boxers participated in the customary stare-down, with their height and weight contrast evident, it drove home just how surprising this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is really happening.
